Taking Charge of Change

Change management fundamentals

This training workshop provides participants with an understanding of the fundamental concepts of change management and the organizational benefits of effective change management. Participants apply the five tenets of change management to their own project or change initiative, building awareness and desire to use change management in their own work.

Available as both enterprise training and an open enrollment program.

Why is it important to understand change management fundamentals?

Organizational changes are more successful when people understand what change management is, why it is needed, and how it helps achieve the intended results and outcomes.

The Taking Charge of Change workshop establishes a shared definition of change management and helps participants understand the connection between the technical and people sides of change. Participants explore change management research, best practices, and the value change management brings to organizational outcomes.

During the workshop, participants apply the five tenets of change management to a specific project or change initiative and complete diagnostics and assessments for that initiative.

Common change challenges include:

  • The value of change management is unclear
  • The technical side and people side of change are treated separately
  • Impacted groups are not identified
  • Resistance management is not planned
  • The benefits of change are not fully realized

Taking Charge of Change helps participants:

  • Establish a shared definition of change management and its impact on organizational outcomes
  • Understand the connection between the technical and people sides of change
